also. i decided i wanted to post some choice metal albums i haven’t really mentioned in a while; for those who wanna check…
alright. so everyone knows the obvious metal albums that all four of us in trivium mutually love and respect and all that… and i know i’ve been talking up what ELSE i’ve been jamming lately (chopin, mozart, pink, nin, isis, dashboard) but i’ve never delved into my all-time fave’s that are the non classic greats (metallica, maiden, pantera, etc…) so here i recommend: (not in order)
angra- temple of shadows
nevermore – dead heart in a dead world
arch enemy – wages of sin
dark tranquillity – haven
children of bodom – follow the reaper
the duskfall – frailty
in flames – jester race/whoracle/colony
mercenary – the hours that remain
opeth – black water park
soilwork – a predators portrait
anorexia nervosa – new obscurantis order
dimmu borgir – puritanical misanthropic euphoria
dissection – storm of the light’s bane
emperor – anthems to the welkin at dusk
mork gryning – the maelstrom chaos
old man’s child – the pagan prosperity
martyr – feeding the abcess/warp zone
it’s not EVERYTHING ever that completely pwns all… but it’s a damn good list if you haven’t checked out all of those albums. i know some are obvious, but a ton of these are records that i’ve always loved and been revisiting lately. i’ve been talkin up a storm of the non-metal influences i’ve been digging lately- but here’s a nice refresher if yer down
